Howdy,
First post here at iFish. Apparently I barely made it past the rigorous registration process...PHEW!
So, here's my requisite Fish Story First Post:
Went out last Saturday with my brother in law. Was a beautiful morning! Little bit on the cold side but no wind and lots of sun. We put into the Columbia at Pateros at the mouth of the Methow River. There were about 10 other boats on the water, but not too crowded.
Craig and I had never fished for steelhead before but we had asked around and felt like we at least had a clue.
So, by around 8am we were on the water and had our line's in the water...Around 8:30, I saw my bobber doing a little dance and I thought that some little guy was just harrassing me, since it was just a little tip tap...finally it stayed down a little longer and, what the heck, I'll set the hook and see what happens. THUD! My oh my, seems there's a big something or other on the end of my line. FISH ON!
So, our first time out, we have a beauty in the boat in about half an hour. Whoo hoo! This is easy! Of course, that was the only bite/fish we got all day, but I'll be back out there this weekend for sure!
