2 Wise Men
3 Vortex Kings
1 Vortex Steely
Actually I am playing packhorse for Yagermeister, who caught the Kings. I got the Tiny steely. I also broke a king off for him! http://www.ifish.net/uploads/540409302.jpg

FnF, Nice night of fishing.

Hey, have you tried those new vortexes that are motion activated. The ones that don't require those darn batteries. Do you know if they last very long? Are any stronger? Have a few questions but guess I'll wait until I know if you tried them or not.

Thanks

Dogfishboy,
The lures you are talking about are called Sadu Strobes. They are built better then vortexes but do not have a fast enough blink rate. There are those that will argue about that, but I have pulled them head to head with vortexes and they have been outfished rather handily. K-13 lighted kwikfish are made well but they do not blink bright enough. I have argued this with Dave Lind who is the lure engineer at Luhr-Jensen. Someday! In 6 weeks the new vortexes will hit the shelves and you will be pleased. They work awesome.
I have used them 7 trips now and they still blink brighter than the old style. I figure I am really ahead as far as cost goes.
Miss B haven,
You are talking about the vortex fish caller. Do not buy it as it is just about worthless. It does make a cool sound. Some guys take the hooks off of them when they are ice fishing and let it down the hole and jig next to it.

FNF,
The Sadus' work as well as the Vortex's. You just have to troll at 18 mph! I can't wait for the new Vortex's.

That trip to Lewiston was fun. Are you going up there soon? Let me know when you are headed up there, and I'll try to meet up with you.

Thanks FnF.
I look forward to the new vortexes. Tired of the bills breaking off and breaking in half when the fish is flopping around. First year of night fishing and it was a blast. Once again, thanks.

Is it to much to ask what river you were fishing? Drano? Lewis? Columbia? White Salmon?

Do you fish all night for results like that? Early in the morning, before sun up, or past sundown?

Up-4-air,
We have caught all the fish at McNary
Dam. My boys fish was caught at Low Mo on
the Snake. We usually start trolling
around 7:30pm and go until we limit or
pass out from exhaustion!

Thanks for the reply. I've actually caught a couple fish in the Columbia near Portland over the past couple years. I'm looking forward to the new lures and few hours on the water to try them out.

Dumb question:

What is a vortex?

SKP,
A vortex is a lighted lure. It actually has a blinking red light in the body. Steelhead and salmon do not like them, they try to crush them! Sometimes they do.

I saw something about a lure which has a small transmitter which mimicks the high freq sounds that a wounded bait fish makes. graemlins/idea.gif Anybody have any further info on this?
