I just changed out the line on my favorite Shakespeare rod to only find out that I can't get the Whiplash! 20-pound black nor green braided line. What gives? And does anybody have some they could part with??? graemlins/1zhelp.gif

I used whiplash for springers this year and had some problems with it. It seemed to like to dig into the spool too much. I switched to Power Pro and havent had that problem since.
I liked everything else about whiplash though.
If you cant find it you might want to give Power Pro a try.
Just an idea.

It's been my goto line since I found it in Soldotna 2000. Will have a hard time getting use to another line. Was on Berkley's site the other day and didn't see anything whiplash. There is still some 2000 yard spools for sale at cabela's in limited dia. Also walmarts in Spokane and the Black Sheeps in Lewiston and Coeur d'Alene have limited quantities. Even more limited after I get there!

I'd use whiplash any day over power pro.... much better in my opinion - however i've never seen it anywhere in anything less than 50lb test.....
I hadn't heard anything about them not making it anymore (hopefully its not true)? my buddy just picked up a 300 yd spool at fishermans the other day.

Wetaline, Ithink they just stopped makeing the under 50 lb tests.

I had 80lb Wiplash on one of my Salmon rods "hated the stuff" it was tough but you hook a fish and then you deal backlashes from the line being dug deep into the spool. I have one thing to say "TOUGH LINE" much beter line, won't dig in, comes in Green, Yellow, White colors... Try it you will never go back.

Thats funny about you guys having it dig in... Honestly have never had a problem w/ it digging, infact i've always felt it packed smother than powerpro.....
CB - I've never known them to make it under 50lb test.. i've always assumed firel line was for under 50 and whiplash was for over 50....
and yes go cougs - to bad our line is getting in fights and suspended, and two of our receivers are questionable for this weekend.... bad timing....
