Why are plugs(Warts) more likely to drag the bottom when trolling down river then when going up? You would think it would be opposite. Any ideas?

When you have a plug out, you have a belly in your line. When you troll upstream, the current forces the line belly upwards. When you troll downstream it forces it down thereby making your plug dive deeper.
Sometime check out what happens when you speed up your troll and slow it down. Generally the slower you troll the deeper it will dive. (As long as you are going faster than the current).
