big n bright-
i put a center consle on my sled and I'm not real happy with it. for the reason if your sitting on anchor or trolling you can't see both side of the back to watch the rods and it may just be my floor paln, i took a 21' open sled and placed four pedstal seats in the front 2/3 of the boat raised the back 8' up 12" to locate fuel tank, livewell, battery and storage under, i placed the console on the front lip of the back deck. looks great and is great for handling the boat its just if your sitting in the front you can only see one side
anyway "FYI"

Bumper chrome,

Do you have any pics I would like to get a better idea of what you did and also if you were to relocate your console where would you place it?
I'm pretty much set on the console.

Thankyou for your time and input

Hello again fishermen and fisherwomen
Well, I have a friend that is restoring a 19ft
flat bottom wood sled for me, I got a really good deal on the boat, he just finished the
work on the motor and now is starting on the boat.

I thought about converting the console to a tiller and I looked around but it was to costly for me so I'm sticking with the console. My friend says he can give it real tight steering I mean half turn in each direction so we'll just see.

My question here is where to put my console I tried a search in the archives and had no luck I found some good info on Tiller vs. Console but nothing about placement of the console.

Maybe all you boat owners can give me some tips, this will be my first sled I wanted an aluminum sled but I just bought a 17ft willie drifter and only could afford this wood sled so I'm trying to work with it I feel it has potential.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thankyou
BnB

A lot depends on the size and weight of the motor. How many H.P.?
