I wanted to go down the Trask from 5th, but Bill said he has heard of animosity from bank anglers to boaters. Is this true?
He was not in the mood to deal with angry bank anglers that throw things at you.
Last time we went down, we didn't have any problems. Is this something new?
Does it really happen? I can't imagine that was the real reason... I think he just had his heart set on fishing somewhere else.
Enlighten me.
I love to bobber fish SO much, and Bill likes spinners. This is a problem.

I have fished the Hospital hole every weekend for a month and a few times in between and have never heard a cross word said to the boaters who travel by. Only good things like did you do any good. See much caught in the bay, ect. Someone will yell how you doing Dave or Steve as they have boater friends.

I am not there everyday but when I am there I am in the middle of the bobber only section and thoes folks are a real nice bunch to fish with.

PS........caught a nice buck today.. hen tomorrow?

Put in a couple full days in from the water there abouts, and saw/heard nothing negative.

Jen,

I try and get along with everyone. I know though if you plan on anchoring your baot in the hole or near, plan to get slack for it. If you want to fish there, the safest bet is to pay the 5$ and fish from the bank. I've seen bankees throw stuff at boats b-4  Not my idea of fun!

Jen, I agree with Slayer however why would someone with a boat want to park it in the best bank fishing hole on the trask.

Today someone with a nice ford pickup and drift boat with 8 horse motor on the trailer were parked at the hospital hole. Just west of the bobber only hole...thats how good a hole it is.

Jen If I understood your post right you were wondering about moving thru the hospital hole not anchoring in it. I have never seen someone want to anchor in this bobber only hole. (I suspect it could happen)

Many boats (some guides) park just upriver from the bobber only hole and I have never heard of them getting any flack.

Fishing is fun and when it becomes to stressful for me to have fun I look elsewhere. I have never left the hospital hole under bad conditions.

Jen if you go by wave.

Maybe I'll just come down!
I think Bill is having an agenda, whatyathink?

We were just going to go on down.

If I win, we'll go down the Trask, and I'll wave.

If he wins, --I win! Cuz I'll just go fishing on the bank right along whitchya!
Bill will either come with me, or go spinner fishing again!
I'm a spoiled bobber girl. graemlins/eek13.gif

Only time I've ever seen flak between the boaters and bankies at Hospital Hole is when some inconsiderate boater decided to beach their boat on the sand bar on the opposite side of the hole and then cast across the hole towards the bankies. You can imagine the line tangles and words exchanged. I've seen that happen a number of times but that's about the only time I've seen "issues" between the two. Usually boats go through there very slowly and there is no problem.

I plan on bobber fishing there Tuesday morning (from the bank that is), hope it's a good day!

Skrimmy, I fished Saturday and Sunday in the hospital hole and it is slow and the fish are not very bright. I did take a smoker buck home on saturday bobber fishing.

Good luck on Tuesday

AKS, thanks for the update! Hopefully Tuesday will be the "right place at the right time" down there. Ya just never know. I picked Tuesday morning 'cause I'll get the last hour or two of outgoing and fish through slack. Home by noon and get some "honey do's" done on top of it all. I'd call that a win win by any book. If I get em done during the week, frees up the next weekend to fish again! I'll keep you posted on how Tuesday goes.

Skrimmy, I will be looking for your report on Tuesday.

Check the interactive tide table on the ifish front page for a accurate tide for the slough in tillamook. It has been right on.
