Hi everyone, my name is Tom, I go by the moniker Busy, I started drinking.....ooops, wrong forum! :grin:
Well, I never was really a drinker, but I am a fisherman. I caught sight of this board from some posts on another board and decided to check it out. So far, I really like what I hear and see. Nice to see the comeraderie and family atmosphere.
I hail from Newcastle, Wa. For those of you that don't know where it is, it is a wart of a town north of Renton and south of Bellevue....which means that you pass it if you blink. :shocked:
I enjoy fishing of all types....salt, fresh, lake and stream. I have tried my hand at flyfishing as well as fishing with bait and lures. So far, I enjoy fishing for salmon the most.....but have yet to try for TUNA...yes, have never been but have the bug...sad, I know. :depressed: :wink:
My fishing story is more about how I got interested in fishing. My brother, older by about a year, took me one day to a local lake...probably more a pond to some of you maybe 1 acre, or 2 at most. I remember the trail we hiked in on and fishing from a rock that jutted out into the lake. It was full of sunfish and bluegill. I remember looking around for a long stick to tie the 6 foot length of fishing line I had found to. I remember scrounging for a hook, finding one and finally placing a small wad of aluminum foil on the hook and just catching all kinds of fish near the rock. We also used rolled up bread and bits of american cheese, just about anything we could think of would work. I remember those days fondly, not just because of the fishing, but because of the time spent with a brother that I never get to see anymore. His memory will always be with me and the fact that he introduced me to my first fishing experience....no matter how big the fish were or what gear I used.
If you have the chance, take a little one fishing. They will never forget that first time!
