Exploring tomorrow

I'm taking tomorrow off and am going to fish the Siletz. I've never fished the river and want to do some bobber fishing.

My question is, how far up the 229 do I drive to find the boat launch that will give me the best chance for fish? I have a driftboat with a kicker so I wouldn't want to motor over a mile.

Alligator, I have not fished much at all on the Siletz this yaer however in previous years I would say putting in at Chinook Bend upsteam of Cyote Rock would be a good bet. I have heard some recent success stories. The people that run Chinook bend will probably point you in the right direction as far as go up or down stream. Good luck and I hope this helps.
