I don't need a full copy but I would be interested in a brief summary of the high points, etc. How/where did you get your copy?

UG,
Nice meeting you last night at TunaHolics. Thanks for bringing the pictures in. You looked pretty tired - maybe you've been working too hard. Why don't you take a day off and relax and go fishing, you know, to rest up. :hoboy:
Anyway, I'm interested in both the full copy and some good discussion. I've gotta believe the decisions we make are going to have some serious, long-term impacts and we need to know where we're going when we rally the troops.
Thanks for all your effort.

You think the budget is bad now and that we have a hard time getting funding for F&W just wait until this free health care proposal (Measure 23) passes. The state will be so bankrupt from the mass migration of public aid recipients that move into the state we won't be fishing anymore and with the traffic tie-ups we won't be driving anymore. graemlins/1zhelp.gif graemlins/1zhelp.gif State run free health care for everyone what are they thinking the state can't get anything right as it is. You can also think of this an instant pay cut since you will be paying for it with a payroll tax. They crazy thing is this stupid measure has a good chance to pass!!  Be sure to vote and vote no on measure 23.

Fish on - Yes, I was looking at Measure 23 in the voter's pamphlet. The text is 7.5 pages long and the explanatory statement is another half page. All you need to do to decide how to vote is look at who paid $500 to print their arguments in favor: Eastside Democratic Club of Portland, Women's Int'l. League for Peace & Freedom, Nat'l. Assn. of Social Workers,
Pacific Green Party of Oregon, State Sen. Bill Morisette D-Spgfd., etc., etc. This measure could double your state payroll taxes.

Did you get an actual line item budget or the publicly released overview of the budget? The overview gives administration / propagation / wildlife totals and is about 60 to 80 pages in length. A line item budget is incredibly detailed and would be in excess of 400 pages (I think). It should include the following type of information:
http://pub.das.state.or.us/Purchasing/Contracts/8066.html
http://pub.das.state.or.us/Purchasing/Contracts/1241.html

Men and Women, Boys and Girls....
I got the overview version for now, I asked for that one specifically. If that one does not awnser the questions I have, I can get the line item version. (If I ask for it.)
Second, it is paper, about 2.5 inches thick, not electronic. I was thinking that if there was enough intrest I would put a copy "on file" at kinkos or somewhere and anyone interested could stop by and buy a copy. (probably 3-4 bucks).
Mailing copies is expensive and a pain in the ass. I got my copy from ODFW, never mind how, but you are welcome to call them... it took me about 2 weeks to get my copy.
Will that work for the interested parties? put a copy on file at Kinkos or Pip printing somewhere and you all can get a copy, or have them mail you one, at your leasure?

Just a thought!

Depending on total number of pages, I'll try to keep it under 5MB....be pretty ugly for downloading on a phone line, but oh well. Plenty of room on my home area on my ISP. I hope I can get it done tonight, but I'm leaving very EARLY for the coast in the morning, I'll see what I can get done.....I'll be back tomorrow night
May want to do the Kinko's scenario as well: worst case is I won't have it up until Tuesday morning.

So, Rogue, does this mean you'll have a place to post the pdf? That's cool, and much simpler for us than Kinko's, but a lot of work for you. I'm okay with the Kinko's plan, so either way wil work.
Thanks to both of you for the effort.
