This is it I cant take just reading about salmon fishing stories anymore. I am headed west. Of course I will make a stop at the Deschuttes for a few days, but I will have my sights set on the Nestucca and other costal streams.

I plan on being over on the Nestucca the first part of next week. So, if you see a maroon Toyota with a Vale Fire and Ambulance decal on the front bumper, don't hesitate to come over and tell me what I am doing wrong this time. I do have a knack for casting each and every lure assortment in the water on any given day. I am just happy to have a line in the water.

If you think that's pathetic, if your ever in my area driving around and see a guy standing in his driveway casting a line......well I just might know who that will be.

Hope to meet some of you fine folks over the next 2 or 3 weeks.

diamondfish - You may want to get some advice from the board members before you head west from Vale. Do you know what "rain gear" is? If you do, do you know where to buy them on the way?
Do you have a can of Moss killer? Being from the dry country, you may be allergic to that stuff that starts growing on your back and between your toes the minute you cross the State-a-nental divide. Symptoms include depression, graying vision and an urge to hibernate by the wood stove all winter.
I'm sure there's more advise that folks can help you with (maybe even some fishing advise). Have fun while you're here. Good luck fishing for the hogs. Can you bring me abut 20 tons of 4th cutting Alfalfa on the way by?

I would not go that far right now. Lots of fish up the columbia to go for. Lots of steel in the Deshutes and JD. Have fun. Maybe you will end the migration at those rivers.

Hey Diamondfish
I'll be over in you neck of the woods next week for elk season. Hunting the Burnt river area just outside of Bridgeport.

I figure I'll have sometime in the mid day to do some fishing.

Other than Unity res any other good trout fishing this time of year.
