OK I asked this last year and i am still completely a dunce when it comes to tides.
I am heading to a coastal river in the AM low tide is at 7:06 AM and high tide is ar 12:46 and the HT (height?) is 6.6 then low tide again at 6:02 PM.
I'll be fishing just above or maybe in the upper reaches of tide water.
How will the fish respond to the rising and falling water?.. I am hoping to find Coho.
should I expect new fish to move in as the water is rising? after it has risen? or???
any thoughts would be helpful

Hey rob i fish a few different rivers on the coast for coho and the tidesaffect the fish in different ways on the rivers i fish. I guess what i am trying to say is it depends on the river and the type of water you are fishing...

Rob, sometimes just going out and paying close attention to the positive activities (like someone catching fish) then noting the time and date, condition of the tide, the weather and most of all what that lucky-someone is using. I been doing this for years and still haven't caught a fish (just kidding). Anyway, you got to put the time sometimes to gather up some pointers from others and some of your own. For me, from low tide to high tide till an hour after has been the period of luck for me. Yes luck, because I am still learning........Good luck......

As a general rule, the fish will move up with the tide. But there are so many other factors that will make fish move or not move, especially Silvers.

I see new member thankful is sneakin' in a first post.
Welcome aboard!
Now you gotta give up the traditional fish story.
As for the tidal thing, I've caught fish on the outgoing, high and low slack, and incoming. Anymore I just go in the morning and fish. I try to pay attention to when the bite is but so far there is no real pattern. At least where I fish anyway.
