Does anyone know why Washington and Oregon allowed more than 23,000 Coho to be commercially harvested while less than twice this number (41459) have to date gone over the fish ladders in Bonneville?

Seems a little like commercial overfishing to me. I'm not sure this meets escapement goals or not. Anyone know? I emailed ODFW at Odfw.Info@state.or.us for some answers, lets see what they say.

It's my understanding that about 99% of the fish that go over Bonny are of hatchery origin....using that as a comparison of commercial harvest vs wild fish is not a good way of doing it. There is NO fin-clip regulation for coho harvest above the dam.
