Hellow fellow Ifishers (Check out special offer at bottom)
My name is Travis Moncrief and just recently became and Ifish forum guide through the help of my good friend Marty Peterson and of course everybodys friend Jennie. I heard about Ifish a couple of years ago through "Bait O Eggs" but kind of blew it off never thinking it would turn out to be somthing like this, what a great thing you all have here!! I should have listened to you along time ago Roy. Better late than never I guess.
Well I guess I'll take the time to tell you who I am. I was born and raised in Tillamook and grew up fishing and hunting with my dad and Nip Isanhart "The Old Nipper". Those two can still be found fishing together in Upper Tillamook Bay. My dad is the one running the boat. If you know who they are as you pass them trolling just say hi Doug (my Dad) it really freaks him out when people he doesn't know say hi to him, he thinks he forgot who they are. I have all my clients do this when they see him. Any way after high school I attended Oregon State, yes I bleed Orange and Black and for all of you duck fans you better savor last years win because it will all be over soon.
While attending school I guided weekendsl on the Siletz. Ok maybe not just weekends maybe that is why it took me six years to graduate. Then during the summers I would go to Alaska and guide for a fishing lodge. After my second year of School I took a leave of abscence to be a hunting guide for an outfitter out of Superior Montanna. These were all pack in trips in which we hunted Elk, Deer and Black Bear. I loved it out there but my heart was in Oregon and I just couldn't be that far away from these wet shinny things we all chase. So I returned back to Oregon and finished up school.
As you can see my whole life has been around hunting, fishing and guiding and upon graduation I knew what I intended to do with my life. And that was to fish for a living to support my hunting habbit. But there is a lot more to being a guide than just a good fishermen and I was fortuanate to get some help along the way from likes of Herb Good and Jack Smith who have been at this gig many years and taught me what it is to be a good guide not just a good fishermen. I pride myself on providing a first class trip because all days can't be great catching days but all days can be great fishing days.
So for the past seven years I have been guiding full time on the Columbia and coastal rivers. I Also have a salmon fishing camp on the famous Nushagak River where we catch Kings all day untill your arms ache. For any information on any of my trips check out my page on Ifish or my website www.finsfeathersfurs.net (http://www.finsfeathersfurs.net)
Again I am gald to be apart of the IFish community and look forward to getting to know you. ALSO CHECK OUT MY FORUM UNDER GUIDES AND CHARTERS AS I HAVE SOME SPECIAL FISHING OFFERS FOR IFISHERS
PS I live along the Kilchis River just a few miles below Jennie if anybody needs a river condition report this winter give me a hollar.
