FEAR NO FISH!
09-24-2002, 06:22 AM
Sunday I took a fella that had never caught
a steelie before. Well he still hasn't as
he lost all three fish we hooked. I was
bummed as the last fish was a monster
steelie. Fish won again.
Last night I turned the tide on those fish.
I landed 3 of 4 fish that I hooked. An 8 lb
nate steely, a 10 lb. brat and a bonus 23
lb. chinook. I had a hoot! Will be back to
put a hurt on them Friday night

Fear No Fish -

If you have an extra seat, or if you want me to drive and you bring the know how, I would really appriciate a lesson on this night fishing thing, Sounds like a real kick in the pants. I could trade a Costal Steelhead IOU, a Tuna IOU, A Sturgon (keeper or oversize) IOU, etc... Just let me know when and where and what to buy if interested.

We are shooting for one last Tuna trip over the weekend if the weather on the ocean breaks, which will determine my avalibility.

Sincerely.... UG

If we raft our boats side by side and made passes, think of the wall of death we would have! I will see you out there!

My fishing buddy just called from McNary. He just bonked an 11 pound hatchery fish, trolling past the wingwall. Wish I wasn't working! :hoboy:

Hey FNF,

I put on bigger hooks and bigger split rings and the vortex's don't float anymore.
Does that mean that I went too big on the hardware? Maybe it helps them go deeper?
Just wondering?

I ws going to go down wednesday night, but now I think I'll have to wait till Sunday night. Oh well, long as I get there!

Hope to see you there,

Tom

Tommo4,
We use gamakatsu #4's
By the time we add smelly jelly and a chunk of shrimp, ours don't float either. Thats all right, they bite the light!
Allforthenookie,
Do you work the emergency room? I have it easy compared to you. As a matter of fact, I just finished prepping my vortexes for Friday night!
My buddy just hit another steely, wild though.

FNF,

nope, i work in the ICU. not as hurried as the ER but often more mentally stressfull. i have a patient tonight who's not in his right mind, talking to imaginary people, crawling out of bed, pulling at everything....lets just say im REALLY looking foreward to fishing in the morning when i get off.

good luck friday night. if you ever have an empty seat and want some company/gas money i'd love to see what mcnary is all about.

All4thenookie,
Don't you have something that could put the fella into a coma? He needs to go to sleep. Otherwise,
Put him on a stretcher and we could take him night fishing to McNary!

yeah FNF ive been giving him drugs all night....unfortunatly you can only give so much to someone before they quit breathing, which then creates a whole new set of problems.

hmmm.... taking him fishing inspires visions of that movie "weekend at bernies".

Weekend at Bernies. That was too funny!
I used to spend a lot of time in ICU with my father. Until he too stopped breathing. He now is sharing our steelhead honeyhole at Lower Monumental Dam. That was part of his last wishes. I don't envy your job. What days do you have off? Let me rephrase that , what nights do you have off? All I do until Dec. is pretty much at night doing the vortex shuffle.

i work sunday, monday, tuesday or monday, tuesday, wednesday on alternating weeks so i have the end of the week and weekends off. its a pretty good schedule, especially during the winter when i teach snowbording 3 days a week.

sorry to hear about your father. resting in a honey hole is a good place to be.

unfortunatly in my line of work you have to emotionally detach yourself alot. it has a lot of rewards though.
