View Full Version : Rigging question

We are fishing the Columbia with a 6' dropper and a 4' leader and Wobblers.

The question is this:

I have a swivel with a clasp so I can change out my wobblers quickly on the end of my leader. I have been told this messes up the action of the wobbler and the fish don't like it...so am I a moron for having this on there?

It seemed to work OK Saturday, I caught a 10lb URB but Sunday was skunked again.

We have yet to have a trip where we catch two fish -- usually it is just a single fish and then drought the rest of the day.

Could it be our rigging?

Thanks!

I doubt it...but we tie our Alvins on directly to the line, and by now...you know it works. I've mentioned it before too, but I always use a swivel between the lure and whatever you tie your leader to.

Spreaders have been working just fine, but I like to go with a sliding lead setup.....it's smaller and less obvious.

Chacal,

How many times are you changing Alvins during a tide? Usually if you have one that you know works stick with it.

I stick with a 5' dropper and a 4 ' leader on a homemade spreader. But many similar variations , depths and lengths seem to work depending on where they are streaming through.

Personally, I'd just do whatever Fishin' Mission does. Lately I jusk keep rubbing his posts and moniker with my forehead, just hoping some of his karma is absorbed into my fish catching auora.
