Hello to all -
This question may be a little premature, as I know we are all looking out the window at the rain and wondering, but I am heading down to the coast this weekend and......
My plan was to hit the Nehalem, avoid some of the crowds and fish around the 101 bridge while my pots filled with crab. The more I am thinking about it though, with this rain, maybe T. Bay is gonna light on fire. Of course that will probably be tommorrow when I'm at work.

Anyway, I was curious to hear people's thoughts, even though it might be a game day decision. Thanks and have a great day!

Ripple,

I'm headed over to either the Nehalem, Siletz or Tillamook on Wednesday. I would venture to guess the fish are stacked out in the ocean and the rain will cause the fish to shoot up river without holding in the bay. The forecast for Tuesday sounds like we could get enough rain to help cool the rivers. I would think come the weekend fishing will be excellent in the lower river all the way out to th ocean. The tides are rather insignificant this week, so we will have to hope the rain will do the trick

Ripple, the full moon on the 21st lowers my expectations of a strong bite. Just have to see what happens...

I'd stick with the Nehalem. It's run is earlier to arrive than Tillas, and there are usually bigger numbers of fish available for the fisherman because of this.In October,Tilla is the real deal, but until then Nehalem is the odds on bet.Now that said,if a huge fish is a priority, head for 'mook. The strains there are piggy.Have fun whatever you do.

Thanks for the feedback guys, It will be interesting to hear reports this week and watch what this rain does. I would love to run in to some of you out on the water. Okay, I guess "run in to" is the wrong phrase here...
