Having watched all the boats around me catch fish today I began to wonder if I was tuneing my wobbler wrong. I usually have good side to side action and no spin. I have action at the rod tip that lets me know it's working. Do you that are in the know like a slow wobble, or a quicker one, do you have any action at the rod tip? I did a search but was unsuccesfull. Thanks

The alvin that was working for me today had a nice slow wobble you could just see it in the rod tip. I had a 2/0 vmc treble on it , that hook seems to slow down the wobble nicely. I've also put tubing on the hook shank to slow it down even more.

I like a slow wobble. With the right rod you should see some action but if your rod tip is moving too fast it might be spinning or moving too much. Chinook are big lazy fish, they like it slow no matter what it is. I run Alvins with a gami 2/0 treble and it wobbles nice and slow. I've had days where everyone around me caught fish and I didn't. Somedays are like that. Helpful hint #1 and only, try garlic smelly jelly, that has been the hot secret for me this last week. Ten takedowns and four fish in three trips. Hope this helps.

Today was my first attempt at these upriver bright fish round town. Usually, I am chasing elk with a sharp stick this time of year. Managed to catch a 37lb chrome hen still carrying the sea lice before the tide really started running good.
Maybe you guys have something with the slower wobble. Didn't get a hit after the tide took off. I may have to rig some wobblers for slower action. Replacing the siwash with a 1/0 Owner treble ought to be a good place to start.
