Worked the Yaquina today for about 2 hours on the ebb of the incoming tide. Absolutely nothing down low in the area of the lower bay up to RiverBend. :hoboy:
Haven't heard how the Alsea is doing this week.

Alsea slow except on the slack when bite starts in river. Spinner for 30# nook last week. Marked lots of fish. Bay is poor, stay in river.

There are a few fish being caught upriver but the Alsea jaws remain very slow. Not sure what's up with that. Had a friend fish the Yaquina Sat and Sun and nothing. Maybe next week it will get going. I fished the Umpqua at Reedsport Saturday p.m. and Sunday a.m. Got one 37 pounder on Saturday with two other to the boat and lost. No fish Sunday but lost another and one takedown that was ripped out of the fishes mouth by inexperience.

Hey Tyee,
Down at Reedsport - which part of the tide worked for you? Were you upriver (elk viewing area) or closer to the jaws? What worked, lures or bait? Talk to me. graemlins/1zhelp.gif
I'm going to try to get down there next weekend, most likely Sunday since we're going to IFISHSTOCK (!) on Saturday.
Thanks for the info and see ya on the river. I'll be in a red Jetcraft with a black lab asleep on the doghouse.

The Alsea remains slow, I fished it Sunday, and nothing, There's alot of fish hanging out in the jaws, but they did not want anything to do with me. I saw two fish caught near oaklands. We need some Rain!

The Yaquina remains slow. My wife and a friend fished it yesterday. Only a few boats working from Riverbend to the Toledo Airport ramp and they did not see one fish caught in about 3 hours of fishing.
This past Saturday I ventured as far up as the mill in Toledo. Water surface temp was as high as 71 degrees in that area and around 67 degrees around the Toledo airport.
We need some big tides and rain to cool it down and get some fish in.

I fished the Yaquina yesterday, 09/25/02, and lost one after a 10 minute fight and had two other takedowns. I fished from about 10-12. Saw another boat get two and another boat had one. Slow, but there are fish there.
