This is a good one for the search feature as it has been covered very well in the past.
Basic: 1 part crushed smoked fish to 1 part softened cream cheese. Add spices such as Johnny's and Cajun spice to taste. Add chopped green onion including the tops. Roll into a ball and roll in green onion tops or sliced almonds.
For a dip, cut the basic recipe with sour cream or plain yogurt and/or mayonaise to taste.
Variations: Add chopped Walla Walla or any sweet onion, chopped parsley or minced celery.
If your smoked fish is nice and mild (alder smoked) add fresh dill instead of the Cajun seasoning and onion.
Experiment. Have fun and enjoy the results.

Here is another variation
8 -12 OZ smoked salmon
1 pkg cream cheese
1 T chopped onion
2 cloves garlic
1 T horseradish
Make into ball and roll in nuts.
You can also cheat and use regular salmon (canned salmon works well) and add a teaspoon of liquid smoke. Still turns out great.

This is what you will need to make this Smoked Salmon Dip, can use Smoked Steelhead too.
2 cups of Smoked Salmon
1 package of 8 oz Cream Cheese
1 Tabelspoon of Lemon Juice
2 teaspoons minced onion
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon of Horse Radish
1 box of your Favorite Snack Crackers
Place Salmon in Food Processor blend until semi-smooth. Next take the Cream Cheese quarter it up and put it into Food Processor blend for a few seconds. Now take the remaining ingredients, put into Food Processor, blend the mixture into a creamy paste. That's it. Word of Warning, this recipe is very addictive and chances are your going to eat more than you want too.
Enjoy!

two containers of plain cream cheese
small can of DICED jalapenos
Mix together (including the juice from the jalapenos).
stir in smoked salmon/steelhead to the texture you want.
