salmon boated at St. Helens

I got on the river at 1130 with my dad, we nailed 2 nooks on blue alvin types.

I tried a new alvin wannabe lure called a "10 spot". I liked the look of it so I tried it. It nailed one of em and the other was caught off an alvin.
53 feet of water.

We saw a couple others caught too, but seemed a little slow. We had a good time. Mt dad brought a guy from Montana who had never caught a chinook. Once the first one was hooked it was handed to him for his first salmon......He was very excited. I bet he does not sleep tonight. :grin:

I really feel like a loser now.Noon to 6 and never saw a boat drop off anchor.Picket fence,Brads and Manistees.Probably me since we have never fished woblers before.Gonna try either Gov. Is. or Chinook tomorrow.Way to go on the fishes.

Got one on Alvin at mouth of the lewis

K9, good job, I got a hog Sat afternoon (see post) I like the Alvins but do have acouple ten spots that I like in faster current, they seem heavier, Another sub for Alvins or Brads are the clackamas wobbler made by Calypso that I found at Freddys for 5.97. They seem to be just a hair wider and a little heavier than Alvins so I'll try it later in the week when the current gets stronger. :cheers:

Did the frenchmens thing today.Dallas will win another superbowl before I figure out how to make a wobler run.Oh well.Whacked a pile of doves tonite.The dog is tired and I feel like less of a loser than I did before the birds flew.Which is quite a loser. On the metric loser scale I am around 7.899423 losergrams.Don't know how to convert to standard so thats up to you.

Spent three days in St. Helens and not one hit. Saw many fish caught out there today.

So it just must be new boat jitters.
