First salmon (edited)

Well I got my wish. Took the (my first mate) wife out to Frenchmans bar and she landed her first salmon. On her brand new TH custom made pole. Nice rod by the way.

Took her 11 hours to get one but finally ended up with a 24# URB hen.

I think she's hooked. graemlins/hearton.gif :cheers: :grin:

Also had the pleasure of fishing between Pete and Sureset. Thanks to both for all the support and tips.

She certainly didn't handle it like her first, very good job on the landing (and the net job). Made me look bad! Good fishing next to you Small Fry and Mrs.

Congrats to your wife, Small Fry. Get used to her bonking fish. The wives will usually show us up. My wife does on a regular basis. I had a hard time excepting the fact that there is no competing with lady luck. After extended therapy, I have come to terms with the fact that there days where my sole purpose is to drive the boat and net the fish.

Pete and Sureset know their stuff. Sureset has been putting on clinics out there this week. Pete called me and said he crackered one while trying to toss his anchor rope. Do as he says, not as he does. :grin:
My wife got here first fall fish of the year today. A nice 18# hen. We were in the line directly above you guys fishing between Don and Bassin.

This is her first salmon! Not first fish.

She normally out fish's me when were sturgeon fishing. Now I'm going to learn to enjoy watching her catch salmon. :rolleyes: I hope I don't knock em off with the net :wink:

Maybe she'll have pity and give me a hand off someday. I just want one every now and again.

Thats a great looking fish, way to go Small Fry... Theres alot to be thankfull for when the Wife also enjoys to go fishing. This Sept. It'll be 15 years for my Wife and I.
She is one of the best fishing buddies I've got ..Just gotta get used to getting spanked once in a while. I hope that you two have each found a fishing buddy for life....Just be carefull. When theres a really really good run going on, and you're taking another buddy, leave about 2 hours earlier than normal, be very quite, stay out really late, stop for something for dinner, make sure you left the heater on in the garage, take out the trash the night before, leave flowers on the kitchen table.
And most importantly promise your willing to do it all again tommorow when she wants to go !
