I don't know if I am missing something here because I have read a lot of threads where people are gumping about service for this type of boat or another and from what I have read most of you give Steven's a bad rep.

For those of you that read my post from last week you know that I took several large waves down around B-10 last Friday and swamped my bow. After a chain reaction of stupidity we swamped my boat :hoboy: Not to worry everything checked out AOK and I am back in the water starting tomorrow.

I called Steven's where I bought my Alumaweld leaving my mom's house in Gearheart on Saturday evening. They told me to bring the boat in on Wed. I took it in, the VHF was fried they repalced it and relocated it, had oyxidation on a lot of the ciructs which they replaced, they replaced the horn and one of the windshield wiper motors, gave the entire electical system the once over and inspected the power plant for me. I am sure there is a lot of other stuff I am leaving out because I don't have the papwework in front of me.

It was ready this morning by 10:00 AM. I went in to pick it up and the paperwork said $804.00 in labor and parts. I needed a couple of tie-downs because one broke and I wanted another to back it up and I got a couple of cans of that spray on anti-oxydizer stuff the service guy rang me up. He told me "Thirteen-fifty"! I thought OMG $1350... no $13.50 the spray cans were $6.75 each and he gave me the tie-downs for free. What about all the other stuff. Don't worry covered under warranty. I am sure glad that the warranty covers stupidity

Needless to say I am very pleased that I got out of this mess for $13.50! So what am I missing here. This is the first time I had any experience getting work done on my boat. Is this bad service? If so I am ok with bad service!

Thanks Steven's Marine

That's excellent news for you!!! One good report won't change my opinion, but maybe someone is finally paying attention to all the complaints.

Was that you last week by the church hole we heard was bailing water? Glad to hear you're okay. We couldn't see you through the fog. Glad your experience was a good one with Steven's Marine. I think we all have had good service and bad service from the different dealers at one time or another. I got my boat from Northriver and they have always tried to do right by me with the exception of having a weld repaired. I had to transport the boat myself down to Roseburg to the factory to get it repaired. They said their insurance wouldn't cover them transporting my boat. They did however have it fixed and ready for me within a week. So I wasn't out of the water for long. Have a nice one!!

I've puchased all my motors through Stevens and had only one problem, and once it was addressed, it was taken care of.
Most of they guys in there are good to work with.

I also have had no problems with Steven's Marine and/or their service department. I know all about the bad rep. they have, but frankly, they have always bent over backward to help me out, even when they were swamped!

Don't get me wrong, there are many horror stories out there regarding this or that about Stevens. I just want to lend my support the other positive posts on this thread.

BTW, why would anyone want to drive to Medford or Roseburg to have their boat serviced? In my opinion, with 30 years experience with Alumaweld, there is not a nickel's worth of difference in the quality of all of the popular brands. And remember, a service call usually involves coming back to pick up your boat. I would rather fish than drive 6 or 10 hours.

I have dealt with Stevens several times. There is a serious lack of knowledge on tiller controlled sleds here in Idaho. Stevens' service dept has been, in a word, AWESOME.

Their sales Dept on the other hand has let me down each and every time I've tried to deal with them.

I will keep calling their service dept. though. They saved me $135 on a part I paid $35 for, The local dude really tried to hammer me. :depressed:

I have been to Steven's marine, bought a couple of motors from them and I'll say nothing since I have nothing nice to say.

What I'm still trying to figure out is how your boat got swamped just by taking water in the bow. You running an open boat? Glad your ok and glad your having good luck with them.

Been a customer of Stevens Marine for 15 years, over all service has been very good.
I wonder if their customer service is so bad then why are they so busy and sell so many boats?

Rusty, Believe me I didn't want to drive all the way to Roseburg and then back again. I thought when I purchased the boat here they would service it here. I was wrong. I love the boat just don't like the idea of having to hand deliver it for certain warranty work. Hopefully I'll not have anymore problems.

Working in customer service for the past 8 years for a major company and I know what it means for customer service.

I have found that it takes 12 good feedbacks for every 1 poor complaint. This is not a good ratio for any company let alone a smaller one. :depressed:

I have been down looking at boats in Milwalkie store and I have yet to have any sales person come out a great me. I suppose I will never purchase anything there since they can not take the time to great a potential customer. :depressed: :depressed:
