Forecast just doesn't look like any fun. Can't get the NBDB to come up to see if 46029 is really what they are saying the forecast is. Blew like heck here last evening, calm as can be this AM. The wifes at Nehalem and said it's overcast and calm there too!
I have HOPE for the morning !! :hoboy:
Have a good Holiday everyone !

Miss B Haven,
Well, I have dried up all of my tears and am ready to hear more about your beautiful, MISS B HAVEN Tollycraft. Now tell me about the tuna trip. I fished for them as a kid out of San Diego, and would love to do it again, once they get close enough to the Oregon coast.
Did you find them? How far out? Questions, questions.
Rusty

Oh Rusty, let me tell you a story...
Going fishing with my Dad, on the beautiful 42 ft "Timber Queen"... out to tuna town.. water was like a lake... the dolphins are swimming along side the boat and playing with us. Then there are the sun fish, sunning themselves on the surface... then it happens we find a school of tuna. graemlins/hearton.gif
Every pole and down rigger get hit at the same time... you pull the fish in, working up a sweat; the skipper is turning around to go thru the school of tuna again. Get the fish off and the lines back into the water as fast as you can! Fish are everywhere, within a few passes, in just a few minutes the skipper decides it is time to put fish in the fish box before someone breaks a leg tripping on them. The crew sighs, skipper knows best.
It happens so fast... 40-50 fish. You haven't fished until you have expereinced a really good tuna trip.
I was a fortunate child.
I hope Mel hits it like that!

Lynda, you are so right, Fish IS a bonus!
I've been fortunate enough to have been there. 7/7/02... that was THE trip. Last weekend was good, but nothing will ever beat 7/7! Porpoise swimming along side the boat, looking me in the eye. Sharks, FLAT, glassy ocean. Tuna coming on so fast with only 2 of us working the lines. Driving and reeling at the same time. 5 on at times. Marlin jumping within sight. All just 25 miles off our beautiful coast. What a day!
Good luck to any that might go pursue the bullets this weekend. I'll be here jonesin' on dry land! :depressed:

Fishisabonus,
Sounds like my memories of San Diego as a kid. I remember it as if were yesterday. (Except that it was about 40 years ago!!) If you know a charter that is FIRST CLASS and has really good equipment for this long haul adventure, give me a reply or email. I am serious about a tuna trip as I have almost had enough Salmon trips in my new 21' Alumaweld for this year. (Well, almost!)
Rusty
Oh my goodness! What have we here?
