Fished the jaws 8/21. Only saw two caught from low slack through the flood. Real slow. Watch the channel markers closely!! Towed one big wood boat off the bar above Brighton back to the state park ramp. Good luck, Billy

Heading down this weekend to fish Nehalem this sat. & sun. I will probably start on the jaws and depending on weather, tides and action, work my way up the bay to wheeler and the 101 bridge on the incoming. Low slack around 8:30 or 9:00 if I recall correctly. Definitely fish through high slack at about 3:00. That would be around 4:30 p.m. on Tues. if I'm reading things right. There always seems to be some sort of bite around high slack, whether your at the jaws or wheeler. I prefer to twirl cut-plugs in either area, but spinners can be productive too. Have fun, be safe and good luck. I'll post a report mon. a.m.
 RIPPLE
p.s. tides are fairly mellow tues. - thurs. which bodes well for crabbing and fishing the jaws, but watch that bar in the a.m. as the tide will still be running out until 10:30 or so.

Snook,
Fished Nehalem today from the Ocean up to Nehalem. It was very slow all day. I saw 3 chinook caught and heard of one other. The water temp's are extremely warm in the river, and we only chart a few fish outside in the ocean. As for the crabbing, the tides are running quite hard with a minus tide in the morning. Most crab floats were under water, which made for bad navigatio.

Herad of a fer report of the Berkenfeld fish being caught under bobbers in the windy bend area, but these fish don't stay aroung very long, will most likely all be gone upriver in a week or 10 days....... then the main run should be headed in in force.

Irishman, You're probably talking about that old black tug boat tied up at the boatel dock. The boatel owner plans to convert it to floating lodging to sleep 3 or 4 people.

Irishman- How big of a commercial boat is it ? I know Paul moors his boat at Wheeler by the Bay Motel on the water. He does work for them and he does occaisional trips with his boat usally privately. Is there another one I am not aware of? I haven't been over to Wheeler in awhile.
