I have never been to foster lake, but I am taking the family and boat (its part of the family too) to camp there for a few days....

Any suggestions on what and where. I know its late in the year,,but I will try anyway in the early am and late pm. I promised the kids I would pull em on a tube during the day...

Thanks in advance...

Jeff

I used to fish it, but never camped there. I seem to remember some spots on the upper end, just before the highway heads into the canyon...you might be better off at Green Peter reservoir, which does have campgrounds. Sometimes it gets low, but has both trout and kokanee and is only a few minutes drive above Foster...good luck

K9Jeff:

My folks live in Albany, about 40 mintues away from foster, so I have some fairly extensive history of fishing foster res. I don't know where you will be staying or where you will launch, but I would strongly recommend launching from the Sunnyside boat launch. Proceed from that launch under the bridge and start trolling from there along the east side of the lake and you should do fairly well. I would stay away from the dam area of the lake, but I do know some people who have had success there. We usually troll with small gang trolls and a wedding ring spinner tipped with a worm. The lake is very warm this time of year so to target the trout you may need to troll a little deeper. There are bass and bluegill in the lake, but I have never targeted them so can't really give you any info about them. There are no kokanee in the lake to my knowledge. The trout fishing is ususally good all year around. Good luck.
