Just joined this BB. it looks great so far, A little about myself, Fished the Bassmasters (local chapters)on the east coast for about 15 years before moving to washington. When I got here I knew I was home. Retired from the military and stayed here. my typical year looks something like this winter time I fish for steelhead off the west side of whidbey Island not to much success so far. then comes lingcod and bass season. great sucess here 9.6 pound bass this spring(released) and around a half a dozen lings bigger then 35 inches. then on to salmon. Im completely hooked on kings, caught over 100 last year on the samish river (over half released) and Im up to 29 (from my boat) for this year already.(fishing in the san jauns.) I take alot of military people out for there first time but my best time this year was when my 6 year old daughter caught a 27 pound king on the 15 of aug. I have a great pic I well post as soon as I figure out how. Anyway I live in Oak Harbor and for all the Island people look me up and lets soak some eggs or drag some lead or just swap notes....DJ

Welcome DJ, looking forward to the fish pic with your daughter! Just one thing, though ... I can't imagine what XS fishing would be.

Pete if you say it fast enough its
DJ fishs to excess I dont think I do but if you ask the wife she seems to thing 3 to 5 times a week is to much. Hey I retired once already working on the 2nd retirement so I figure I deserve it.
Get Bent Yes I do look at steelheader.net I work for the Navy, and all the sailors know I fish alot so I get alot of "where they biting questions" so its a great way to keep up on the when's and where's. Ive came along way with the fish intel, I even have web sites in my favorites that I check a satalite view of my fishing areas for the marine layer that some times is present....DJ
