What does it mean when you guys refer to a salmon as a "thule"?

"Tule" is a fall chinook run in the "lower" Columbia River tributaries.

Generally speaking, tules are less desired as a target since they have very pale flesh (lower quality meat) compared to most other chinook and coho runs.
