Not just any crabbers, primarily the ones from the dock. and a few of them in boats...

I went out fishing this morning and I just got back, we get up to the dock and there are 10 crab pots out, leaving no place to actually dock. I ask a lady to pull her pots so I can get my boat on the trailer and she starts cussing me that I am messing up her right to crab there. I kindly referred her to the sign that says "Boats have right away over crabbing" and she keeps on cussing and refuses to move her pots. I kindly told her, if I got one fowled in my prop I would cut the rope and she would lose her pot. So I wheeled right in there. Basically gave it some juice and then shut the motor off and tilted it up. and made it. But man..... PLEASE PLEASE HAVE SOME RESPECT!

and I won't even get into the crabbers that leave there pots in the main channel!!

I like crabbing my self, but there should be a test people have to take to be able to crab or something....... grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr..

Wow --- crabbers vs boaters, drift boaters vs sleds, bankies vs drift boaters, bankies vs sleds, personal watercraft operators vs everybody, etc. etc. Ain't we a loving bunch?

I have to agree on the crap pots in the channel thing graemlins/eek13.gif . I dont know how many times I have had to perform slolom like manuvers to avoid hitting them on the way back into port....its simple a matter of using an ounce of foresight and consideration for other folks enjoying the water

Pick up one of those line cutters for your lower unit, and pull right up to the dock!

Wasn't it Barbara Streisand who said,
"People..... People who need people.... are the luckiest people, in the worldddddddddddddd!"

I know, it wasn't,

"Boaters......... boaters who don't need crabbers......."

I don't like to see milk jugs or other similar floats and floating line. Foam floats can't fill with water and sink creating a ghost pot that kills until it rots or is recovered. :depressed:
 Floating line can foul props.

Just tossing in my 4 cents.

Did ya know that its against the law to:
1.) toss out crab pots, traps, rings or other wise obstruct a navigable channel and
2.) Tie up to any channel marker or bouy.

So if ya see some one braking the law let them know that they could loose their traps and be fined and remember not to tie up to a navigable aid.

Have fun and stay safe. graemlins/program.gif
