One thing I prefer to use over the stretchy thread is orthodontic rubber bands like the kind kids put on their braces. Put the bands on the kwikfish prior to putting the sardine in place. It makes it simpler and quicker is all. I have found these to be also handy in putting prawns on hooks.

try a fly tieing bobbin and thread. :grin: .
