Bounty Hunter

Well I'd been begging for some reports so I thought I'd throw one up...
I went out of Ilwaco and fished the incoming between Buoy 10 and 12 on Sat and Sunday. It was real slow for my boat. I had one jack (clipped) chinook released on Saturday and one peeler that came unbuttoned after I tried to slow the reel with the drag (burned my thumb). There were tons of boats out there both days with really sporatic action. I was told that the bite was the best so far, but still not anything like last year. Long periods with no nets flying. Half of the fish are jacks that have to be returned and the others seem to be average sized chinook. A few boats seemed to be dialed in with one or two fish, but the two guides I talked to yesterday only had 1 fish per boat halfway into the tide swing. I saw 2 silvers at the dock and heard tell of another.
The ocean reports sound like there are thousands off the coast so it should be great when they all get in. (Too bad they are all going to be wild, at least 3 to 1, and we are going to end up releasing hundreds of dying coho as we try and pick through to the keepers.)
