Fishing report from Warrington. Had to take the family fishing, which meant a late start from the house. Arrived at Warrington finaly around 12:30. Visited with the nice gal at Tackle time. Good information and quality bait. Fresh anchovies. Finally on the water, and I notice that my 175hp Merc has no tell tail water coming from the motor. Shut her down and decide to fish around the mouth of the bay. Three poles in the water, pole 1 has red diver and red flasher and six feet of leader and plug herring and out 14 pulles. Pole 2 has green diver and a silver flasher out 16 pulles. Pole 3 has a spredder with 6 oz lead, a dodger and anchove. Score: Pole 1 was first bit at start of high tide slack, 28 lb king. Pole 2 bit on 10 min later, native coho, released, and put out at 14 pulles. Next on pole 2 a 20 lb king. Pole 3 zero for 3 on the anchovies. A good day with the family. Now all I have to do is change my water pump, and Ill be ready to go again. :smile:

Bob;

GREAT NEWS! Did you fish at Bouy10 or just in the bay between Warrenton and Bouy 10? :whazzup:

Want to head down this week with my family and sounds like things have really improved so I wanted to get out in the same general area to start the fun!
:smile:

This may not be a water pump problem .This happend to my honda it got something in it and the guys at the shop blew air back threw it.Hooked it to water to test and it was fine .Had seaweed in it .Saved me money.

Thanks for mentioning that it might be something simple, Chrome. The water port, or whatever it's called gets plugged frequently on both my big motor ( 25 horse) and my trolling motor. To get the stream to return, I simply insert a small red plastic tube from a can of WD40 and work the wall of the water tube while the motor is running in neutral. It's usually clear in seconds. After a few trips on the Columbia and certainly after a trip in salt water, a good fresh water flush from the hose and bib is routine maintainance for my motors. I hope this helps.

Thanks for the advice hogs and crabby. I know it was working fine the last trip out almost a month ago at the fishery. It does seem weird that it wasnt even spitting a little bit of water out. Fish a Lot, we were fishing between bouys 27 and 28 and towards the warrington bridge. Out at bouy 10 they had 8 foot swells. I cant fish in that worth a darn. I like to fish the Astoria Bridge/ Church Hole area. Just did'nt make it there this time. Just to far to go on a 8 hp merc. Good luck! :smile:

Bob;

Hope you get the big motor going again soon and thanks for the information about being in by Warrenton as well. I thought that you would not have gone too far with just the kicker motor. :smile:

I like the bridge and the church hole as well. If we make it out Thursday or Friday I will let you how we do.

:wink:
