There still catching a lot of steelhead in the river,I've been getting all my honey dues out of the way so nothing will be in my way except the GILLNETTERS !! :depressed: ,when the chinook get here.I have got five summer steelies this year and your right they don't seem to fight like they used too.I wonder if maybe the water was too warm ?? and low
the reason I say this because they held up in the lower river for a long time, thye were down behind the bowling alley for a long time.
The water was really low also this might have had something to do with it also.

Water temps are too warm. The fish can't breath so they just don't fight very much. I noticed it happening several weeks ago when netting a couple steelies that just swam right to the boat.
What happend to the steelhead in the Washougal river? Years ago these spring and summer run fish were among the best fighters around but in recent years something has happened to them. I caught my first steelhead on a fly over there and hooked many winter and summer run fish in this nice little stream that's about the size of the Trask.
Does anyine have any info? Dawhunt? Rob Allen?
