Fished out of Garabaldi today. Crossed the bar at 7:15 and headed north towards twin rocks. Ocean was bumpy and the wind was decent. Started fishing at 250 ft off of Twin rocks. Trolled out to 300 feet with one take down, a coho. turned south and trolled the 280 to 300 foot line. Ended up with 6 chinook by 1:00. The last three fish were caught over 2 miles south of the bar entrance. Traveled over 7 miles south in the trip. Whole or cut herring 30 to 35 pulls with 12 oz of lead no flashers.
Met bait o eggs on the dock. The top he built on his boat was very nice. He was also nice enough to snap some pics. Will have them by Wed and will add to the post. Two largest 30 and 27 and the rest in the low 20's to high teens.

Headed out this morning (8/4) across the bar at 0600. Bar was flat. Headed west towards the 300 foot depth and only made it as far as 240 feet and headed back in. :depressed: I hope the ocean settled down a bit for the rest of the fishers. It was too much for me.

With a light sw wind and the nw swell things were pretty "lumpy". Took a bit green water over the bow and that was enough for me. Too bad that wasnt the only time green water found the hopper. Chalk this day up to experience.

Was hoping to show BOE how good hooks can save the day but just wasnt gonna happen.

Hey, BOE can I borrow that hacksaw?

Had a pretty good day with look4elk and another friend on Saturday out of Garibaldi. Took home these two fine fish (#26 & #17) and 7 keeper crab as a bonus! look4elk handled the boat and hunted for the schools of fish while I tried to keep breakfast down. Had to hunt for them a bit as the fish had moved out of the depths that we were successfully hitting them in last Sunday.

Had an additional bounus with the big hen with a batch of mature eggs for curing.
