Since Bouy 10 is a bust for now and I-84 West is closed this weekend for paving the question is:

How's the action between St. Helens and Longview? Might be the place to hang out for the afternoon tide?

:wink:

Must be good. Nobody answering your request. The wind is a concern if your boat isn't very rough water worthy.

Hi F-n-A!

The fishing has been OK in that stretch. Not as good as it should be , but definetely worth giving a try.

The bite seems to be distinctly at the beginning and the the very end of the tide for about 45 min. each side.

Don't be afraid to stay to the bitter end when the tide goes slack. We picked up 5 fish the other day after everyone else had given up and gone home.

Standard stuff...Flo Red X-5 flatfish is our favorite...but it all works.

Hogtide;

Thanks for the reply and information. I'll definitely update you on our return. I landed a good native chinook at the end of the tide last Saturday above the Sandy!

thanks again :smile:

Well, it was a nice WINDY day around St. Helens and we didn't see anyone net a fish bfore the tide change around 1:30 p.m.. :depressed:

We finally got out of the wind and anchored across from the mouth of the Lewis and just enjoyed the great day anyway. :grin:

More tomorrow from Frenchman's Bar, early!
