Heard from a friend that ODFW/WDFW estimated 1500 boats were out yesterday fishing inside Buoy 10. The result.....1 silver. Personally I doubt it was that many boats. I could believe maybe a few hundred at most.

Looking at the tides,etc...the tide swing was only 5 feet between the previous low and the high morning. This will remain this way until Tuesday when we start to get minus low's and the swing will build to almost 8 feet by next weekend. Rumor has it the strong inflow on those tides should bring the fish in. We'll see...

How was it from Bouy 10 to the Astoria Bridge today, 8/3?

Either no one went out today or no one wants to talk about it?! graemlins/lurk.gif

Was it as windy there as it was all the way to Bonneville today?

I fished opening day Thursday. Stayed around Buoy l0 l2:30 to 5 PM. . Very rough. Mild incoming with no tidal push. Saw 2 skinny silvers caught by 25 boats. Worse opener in 3 years for me.

Fished the ocean on Thursday by myself. Seventeen fish to the boat in two hours. First and seventeenth were keepers. Fished inside on Friday with two friends in boat. Never saw a net fly all day until we hooked this fish up river a ways, Beautiful day to fish though.

Hey Bugleman, either that or a late June hog. Sure wasn't a Tule. Caught out of Chinnok Wa.

That huge adipose looked suspect. Sorry had to ask.

As to chinook and adipose fin, it is my understanding that the fin is not an issue in lower river at this time.

Ed C's right Bugle. Most (if not all) Columbia River Fall Chinook are not considered an endangered species so they don't differentiate with fin clips. If you want to be real sure you can let 'em go till you catch some late clipped adults or early clipped jacks, but I wouldn't recommend it.

Any other weekend Buoy 10 reports out there? I'm heading down Thursday night and I hope that Friday morning ripper brings in some Silver bullets! I might be by myself so if you're out there fishing the deadline during the rip, keep your eyes open for the tri-hull coming back up-river sideways. I'll be busy reeling and netting a fish, so I won't have time to steer the boat.
