Absolutely in tears.
The first rod I've ever broken this way, and never have I broken a good rod.

My new fly rod....

I rolled up the window on it.

The tip is busted. I'll never forget the sound of rolling up my window again.

I am soooooo sad. I know it can be replaced, I know it will be alright... but... Why am I so sad?

It's the worst! I am having a bad day...

Sorry!

I broke the tip off mine a few years back. Put a new tip in it and while it is shorter, it still fishes.

Any day you are breathing is a good day. Remember that!

at least you broke it.. 2 weeks ago I was just crossing the charleston bar, with a good friend and a new salmon rod. I look back and he had just stepped on it and brok about 6 inches of the tip off. I wasn't to happy.. didn't even get the pole wet.........

BUMMER! :depressed: The screen door got the tip of my flyrod on the way out of the cabin to take some big bulls off the beds (bluegill).
I was also devastated ('tho it wasn't a top-of-the-line rod). My condolescences.
***** happens.
Just replacing the guide tip won't work. Everything is changed--probably will need different weight line.

Jen:

If it was a North River from Fisherman's Marine you could just walk in, pick out your new one and walk out.

So then....
I'm walking down the grocery isle in Safeway, still in shock and still nearly in tears...
I see the banana bin with vanilla wafers by it, and I'm immediately transported to a Saturday afternoon with my Mom in the kitchen looking very June Cleaver-like.
What a '40-ish year old' people magnet that display must be!!!
I snatched up a box, grabbed a bunch of bananas, came home, (Yes, I paid for them!)made me up one of those dandy special desserts with the fancy cookies showing through the sides of the casserole, and the meringue on top.
Now I'm going to go sit in my Mom's lap, with a bowl full of pudding and cry. K?

:depressed:

I be better soon.

Very sorry to hear about your rod. The pain does go away with time -

I slammed the door on an old bamboo fly rod I completely rebuilt one time, and I think you could hear my vulgarities 50 miles away. I feel your pain. :depressed:

Breaking a virgin rod is always depressing. If it's any consolation, I broke my Limaglass kenai Special bait caster in a similar way twice before ever catching a fish with it. Since then, it has landed me many. Think of it as a break for the fish, which you will remedy soon and for a long time to come.

If it is a Loomis rod, they should replace it for $45.00, no matter how it was broken. At least that is their policy on non-fly rods.

The first few bites were really good. After that, too 'gag me' sweet!

Creme brulee' anyone?

My choice, hands down!

I'd love to know where ****** gets his. They're terrific. It is so true, "A picture paints a thousand words."

I downloaded the hug pic from one of those free email greeting card sites. I don't even remember which one, but it is in the pic upload section here, so you are welcome to use if it you like.

Happy hugs!
