My dog is better today, and requiring constant supervision, I am swamped with new business, and my mood is so good this is not going to bother me. I'm confident there is someone out there on ifish sufficiently for real enough to answer my question soon.
Dino,
The regulations are 18 pages, including a one page index. Take the time to look at the index to see where the one page map and the partial page of regulations which apply to the area you vaguely referred to are. It won't kill you and you'll see that the regs are not uniform, depending on where you may be fishing.

They did. Got an email with everything I was looking for and more....got water temps, coordinates, and an up to the minute report from Halibut Hill.
The ocean is going to be virtually flat on Sunday and the boat is perfect. Big chinook are being taken in good numbers at Twin Rocks, but halibut is slow. My Sunday float plan includes a first visit to Tuna Town, and then to Twin Rocks for nooks. I suspect the biggest challenge we'll face is where to put all the fish. So keep READING those regs, ...in the mean time I'll be CATCHING enough fish for you too.

******, You always have the greatest graphics... I thought of you when I was looking for a hug for Jennie... and the bears were the first up on the search results.
What's that they say about teach a man to fish????
Give a man a fish and he eats for a day.
Teach a man to fish and you won't see much of him!
So keep READING those regs, ...in the mean time I'll be CATCHING enough fish for you too. <font size="2" face="verdana, arial, helv">Yep, and SOME of us can do both without having to beg info from the BB membership.
Give a man a fish and he eats for a day.
Teach a man to fish and he will spend the rest of his life drinking beer on a boat!
Fishguts,

Well.. when I helped someone solve their power tilt problem, and he emailed me with a thank U and a "u hit it right on the head", I did not consider his query begging, I considered it fisherman's comrodery.
Yes...a mind is a terrible thing to waist, and I have been spending several hours a day helping my dog to recover his. It is working, and taking an hour away from that endeavor to read and deciper the regs was not an acceptable trade off. Hence I relied on the membership...some of it, anyway. At 11 months old, he pushed a small child up onto shore after being hit by a barge wake, and took the next wake for him, even hating being in the water. How many of us have done that?
Thanks again from us both!
Oh....and I never drink on my boat...except when moored, with tight waisted female accompanyment....take that yon annal regs preachers!

This begging for regs is not a recent thing... we've seen it over and over again... Some folks are just too important to do the research themselves and one day will be in deep doo-doo because they let someone tell them what the regs were... hence my comment about teach a man to fish....
But if someone wishes to rely solely on the knowledge (or ignorance) of others, too bad for him, I guess...
Oh and speaking of ignorance... anyone who spends so much time in GARIBALDI should probably honor it with its correct spelling.

I am not always on top of the regs myself, but always check before I go. My buddies at fishemens keep me informed. Anyway, it is closed for coho out of garibaldi now, but I do believe it is still open for chinook. Hope this helps Angle. What a guy has to go through for a simple reply.

Is or is not salmon currently open off of Geribaldi 7 days a week?
It depends where off Garibaldi you are.
See the Regulations (http://www.dfw.state.or.us/ODFWhtml/Regulations/regulation_oceansalmon.pdf)

18 pages? ..not likely and not an efficient use of my time. If no one on ifish wants to anwer this simple question for me, I'll call the shop in Geribaldi.
Just one page, big bold red print.

Pilar, Yep there are a lot of people who may give misinformation. That's the beauty of asking around...when you get 8 yeses and one no, its not too terribly difficult to figure out who's wrong....for most of us anyway.
John, Amen. That's exactly what I thought, but I thought it was worth making sure. The state of Oregon never seems to miss an opportunity to collect. Thanks much.
******, Excellent idea! Know where I can get one of those? I've seen Pelican's with neck rings gather bait fish, but allas I've not seen many of them up here. graemlins/idea.gif
