Sounds like a fun trip Daniel. I fish the Elochoman River in the fall for steelhead. The river is a few miles west of Cathlamet. Got two from the bank in late November using eggs and pink yarn. Don't know if there is a summer run there? Good luck and post pictures when you get back.

Daniel, I haven't fished down that way in the Columbia but a few friends of mine have. You can go downriver from Cathlamet along some of the islands or around the back side of Puget Island and anchor up for Salmon or steelhead. Or, you could run upriver looking for the same likely spots. Ask anyone you see at the launch or other fishermen out on the river. Some are very secretive about their 'hotspot' but check your fishfinder and you should be able to find a good spot. PS, I haven't heard of much action lately, though.

Hello, my family and I are leaving tomorrow for camping this weekend at Cathlamet, and was wondering if anyone who was familiar with the area could let me know where to fish and what to use. Prefer salmon and steelhead fishing. In my family we are also taking two boats along. Thanks for any help.
