Had occasion to talk to a guide today that is working on the Kenai. His name is Mike and he
lives in Forks WA most of the year. He could be considered an old timer by some but I think anyone with a dozen years or more under their belt as a guide in AK might fall in that group. The Reds showed up early this year to everyones surprise then vanished. Well the good news is they are back. Like really back and they are big big big. Mike said they went to a six fish limit this morning. Four clients had their 24 fish in a little over 2 hours. The average weight was 9 lbs. The run is so large that he said that the escapement numbers were exceeded some time ago and they are still seeing fish count numbers ranging from 50K and as high as 90 K daily.
Why is it I never time it right?
