I posted some questions a few weeks ago about Float and Jig fishing for Steelhead and got some great replys and info from previous posts on the same topic.

I finally had a chance to try it and wouldn't you know it, I batted 3 for 3 on the float and jig set-up! I had a few folks on the river give me some odd looks and heard a few snickers while they watched my float go by. Everyone was using the usual drift gear. It was funny seeing some of the faces as I hooked one of the fish basically right in front of them. They saw the float dissappear and then the immediate explosion of nice Steelie.

All the fish I hooked and landed were the usual hatchery type fish. Nothing to brag about, but I'm a "grom" Steelheader (only started about 4 weeks ago) and was pretty stoked! Thanks again for everyone's guidance.

Duckie,

Are you also a surfer from down under? I don't think many people down here would know what a grom (grommet) is. But then again, I could be wrong.

Good work!

You'll see lots fewer of those weird looks when you keep packing out limits when you go past them!

I'll warn you though...........keep hooking them on the float/jig combo, and you'll be doing it all the time. Glad you found success.
