Talked with a buddy who fished Sun am thru Mon am. Saw 20-25 steelies caught on Sunday, had several hard take-downs, but came up empty. Lots of "nibbles" that several boats said were turning out as steelies for them. After dark on Sunday, he hooked something "large" that he never saw, and it never jumped; figured it was a sturgeon. Around 11:30 that night, C&R'd a 15lb nate. Daylight Monday morning, got a small (7lb) hatchery fish, couple hours later, nailed another one just like it.
Saw lots of fish on the finder and some rolling, using store-bought prawns for bait, as he hadn't cured up his own batch yet. He fishes here pretty religiously all summer(unless he's sailboarding), and says "so far so good".
