After posting a question on stainless steel impellers I recieved all positive feedback. Sounds like I'll be needing one. I looked into it and Toms outboard claims they are a jet pump specialist and has them for around $400. However, I read a some what negative post on the message board about this shop. Has any body on the board dealt with them. If so was it positive or negative. I purchased my boat from Stevens and had to have a new shoe put on and have treated me rite. But when I purchased my sled and aked about installing a stainless steel impeller from the get go, they recommended against it. I am not sure why. Anyway maybe I will have them get it for me if the other shop gets negative feedback.

John,
I am not sure why Stevens did not recommend a SS impeller for your pump. They have blueprinted all of my 3 shoes and have installed 4 blade impellers into each of my pump lower units. I have a spare S200 with a 4 blade SS impeller that I want to get rid of for about the same price to have a shop install a impeller. If you want to try out the difference let me know I would let you use my extra for a weekend if you would like to.

Tom treated me right on my very old setup. A 1968??? in line 6cyl 85hp merc. He was the only person I could find to touch it. I called his shop today to have him look at it again and the message said the next apt was aug 13. any way good luck. tom's ok in my book.

Talons does it fit a 115 2001 model merc? If so I am very intrested in purchasing it from you. If it does fit how much? I am not sure why Chad told me not to put the stainless in the motor? Also, is new or has it been used?

John,
I believe that it fits from a 135 to 225 from 1989 forward but I will check with stevens. It is a used pump that I would like to get around 600 for. The shoe has some cosmetic rock kisses but not enough to effect performance, but the main thing is it does have a good SS impeller and the shaft and bearings are good and ready to go.

Talons I would only need the impeller, I have a brand new pump and two shoes now. If the Impeller fits I'll take it.
