I just recently purchased the Motion Marine anchor roller for the bow of our boat. This anchor roller holds the anchor on the bow completely out of the way and ready for immediate use.
Its made to retain anchors that are made with round 1" and 2" diameter steel stock. Mine is a 2" diameter and it does not seat as well as it should but I think I can file the bracket and get a better fit!
Even with a fit that is not perfect the anchor is held out of the way and does not move going through heavy wake or chop.
Worth the price! If you buy it direct from Motion Marine you will save some $$.

I've had one of these for over a year on my North River. I bought their anchor also. Both work flawlessly. I think it was around $160 for anchor and anchor holder. I just took that Motion Marine decal off and I was set! I can't stand that Mark guy that owns Motion Marine (he really trashed North River when I was looking at the Motion boats), but he sure has some cool accessories.

Same here, I bought mine right after I bought my NR. It costs around $70 and is well worth it. I mounted mine with those rubber hose washers (like inside the female connector on a garden hose) between the bottom of the bracket and the top of the bow. The compress great and keeps bracket from beating the snot out of the bow. I also sanded and repainted mine to get rid of the MM sticker. Don't get me wrong I have nothing against Motion Marine, but let's just leave it at I don't own one.

Come on, Waterdog tell me again what a great guy Mark is
I looked at his bow mount anchor and thought he was quite the genious, then I went and got a piece of aluminum and made one that matched for 10% of the cost.

K9Jeff, I would run down to MM in Clackamas and see if it fits. Or you can have BOE make you one for 10% of the cost with square cut outs.

What can I say BOE, Mark and I get along just fine. Then again I even get along with you. :hoboy:
A 1" square anchor will fit in the roller just fine. I have a square stock anchor that some hack  put together and it fits.
BOE can do one for you at 10% of the cost as long as you willing to have something that works 10% as good and looks even worse.
LOL... Rich
Roy does deautiful work.
You must be a wear glasses wearer and loose them before you look at his work.

When you make your own holder the following features are important.
1. Make sure you mount the roller that is out front, forward of the bottom plate that sits on the boat. Or the anchor rope will rub on the bottom plate when you pull the anchor.
2. The anchor sits on a couple pieces of vertical metal in the cut out. I didnt bring the bottom of those cut outs up about an inch from the bottom plate like Mark did. I wish I would have, as the anchor will tend to rock back and forth in the side to side direction when traveling. When my anchor wants to rock to the side, it sometimes hits the boat along side of the holder since I didnt get this vertical clearance.
And I build them for 10% the cost of buying one, but yet sell them for 10 times the cost of Mark  So far I have sold none of them, which is perfect.
