I clammed before work on Monday and Wednesday near Seaside and got easy limits both days. Big clams too. In the early morning if you get low to the sand where it's still wet and look down the beach you can see thousands upon thousands of digging "impulses" from Razors digging away. The funny thing was that most of them were not signing at all. Is there a clam biologist here that has an estimate for what percentage of clams actually show?

Funny you should mention this. I am going to go down on Saturday for a last dig of the year. I would like to look for the "impulse digging" does this look like pulsating sand? I am sure that most of the clams do not show in the traditional sense.

I sure wish there were clams at Barview like the old days.

What time is the tide tomorrow in the Seaside area? I would like to go for one more trip as well...

It does, but it is only to the side, if you stood up you wouldn't be able to see it at all. It's more of a suface reflection type thing. Just stick to searching for regular sign and you'll score. There's a lot of clams there even after being dug all summer. I wonder how thick they are 200 ft out from the lowest tide mark where noone can get to them? Probably amazingly thick. That's good.
