I fished the Santiam today without results, The trout would not leave my eggs alone. I fished and stayed cool.
I would like to thank the nice person who butchered the fish and left the remains in the water, guts, bones and all. Whoever you were, you left me a nice Kershaw knife on the bank. No one was around so its in my box now. Thanks again.

Went up to the Mehama bridge takeout after work to fish for a few hours. Fish were jumping everywhere, also fishermen were everywhere. 4 drift boats, and about 9 fishermen on the bank, 8 or 9 on the bridge, and more on the otherside! Several were caught. I had one good hit and missed and just before I left at sunset I hooked up with a smallish fighter. However my leader parted at the knot on the swivel as the fish was thrashing about. Oh well beats watching the news....

Ray, good post. Usually when there is a crowd like that....the odfw recycle show probably occured. That's where they dump them.

I also fished up thata way. We started on the south river in the morning and eneded up on the north river. The final total was 7 fish on and three on the bank. Yes, they did dump at mehema. But we all know that ain't fishing and not that fun. Try up in the flats above the bridge, past the fast water.
