CATCH AND EAT

When you arrive at the docks in the estuary area and are checked by the "fish checkers" they are gathering information that will limit your access to the ocean or the river????? :depressed:
Here is what they are asking. "Did you catch any fish today?" "How many?", "What did you catch?". "How many did you release?". "How long were you out there?". "Can I see your fish?".
My recommendation is of a moral dellima for us all. Why you ask? Did you know that when you say you release sub legal fish like Chinnook and you tell these folks this that they count those numbers against the quota in the ocean whether you retain them or not! They are using an 80% mortality rate for those fish released.
So if you want to add to the quota tell those cute little guys and gals you hooked 20 or 30 fish on your boat with a big smile. Then realize you just screwed many fisherman and women out of additional time for ocean fishing.
Now I am not stupid and realize that there are going to be dead fish out there no matter what. Mishandled, bleeders and so on. That is a fact of fishing wherever you go.
Not asking anyone to lie, just think about what you are going to say. You are not required to answer all of there questions. Heck show them your fish, that's important for future referrences and tracking. The rest of their questions Simply reply I have no idea. Or I rather not say. graemlins/berry.gif
