I am looking to get a second propeller, one to use for skiing (4 blade) and to keep in the boat as a spare. I can get a new composite prop for under $100. Has anybody ever had a composite prop, or heard anything about them (good or bad). Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Several reviews can be found at Comprop's website. I wanted to try one on my boat, but the Comprop is only rated up to 3000 lb boats.

A couple of months ago, "Bass and Walleye Boat" magazine tested three brands of composite props and it was found that piranha props (http://www.piranhapropellers.com) were with .5 percent of a stainless prop's speed on a 90 horse Merc. The others were considerably slower. I've had one on my 15 hp Evinrude for 2 years and like it.
