Thinking of a mini tilla on the coast in July. Can take about 3 boatloads of people(you supply the boats and people,my boat is full most of the time). We can fish and eat and such.We can compare power pro to little game graemlins/stupid.gif .If ya wanna go,we need to plan something now or it will get back burnered til duck season. Then it will be spring steelie season cause I have a month long elk season. So it's kinda now or never.Maybe around the 20th???How about you Jen you wanna row?
See you on the river.

I have a driftboat but need to learn more about rowing (which i'm doing now) and feel like i'm close to being ready for a new challange. If you would consider the river your going to float not to challanging i'd give it a go. I do have a couple of open seats. ( riders-you have read my disclamer?)

Sounds like a fun can of worms we opened here. The water will be as easy to row as it gets.Being summer, you WILL hit some rocks.Thats is ok since the stuff you will hit is in 5" of water.Shuttles are on the coast,10 bucks a boat.Shrimp should be available too.4 bucks for 2 doz.It will be drifting baits and gear, bobber n jig(hope you know more than me here),Maybe diver and bait(low flows and plugs mat not dive...we will see.),and spinners.Or any other low water tactics.
Howz about the 20th of July.
Boaters, you can get 2 front seaters down there but might have to hop out at the skinny stuff.2 fronters per boat is perfect so we can all get a crack at some fish.If we spread it too thin,we will have to seperate, which seems to defeat the purpose of a gettogether like thin.Maybe I am wrong though.
See you on the rivers.
Mark.

P.S. Big Game is for weiners.
GO MAXIMA!!

Hey Madwizerd!
Thanx a lot for the invite. You are exactly right about me and my drool and slober. I just know we would have a blast out there. All in good time I suspect. I am going thru withdrawls like never before. I probably cant come back home until September or November. Lets knock 'em dead then ok?

i might ever have a second pair of lucky chaps.i aways wair cowboy chaps when i am fishing..actualy all i wair is a pair of chaps ,a tennis racket in one hand and a rubber chicken in the other hand.i walk to the water ,do a little strut and dance, every one runs away and i have my lucky hole and lucky chaps all to my self.make sure you let me know when you coming so i can have yours washed.

Wiz,
did you take a water temp reading? That really can make em or break em.
Mark.
P.S.-Did a tactical reload on the Big game tonite.Do ya think 50 tuf will hold??

i did not take a temp reading because the only thermomater i had wasn't for water???????water was crystal clear and way to much sun and wind.

dead, stinky, tiny, sand shrimp from ???????? bait company didn't help..i cant beleave they would sell that ?rap..i got some shrimp oil though.

i dont like tuff line..to thick , to much drag on the plugs and they dont stay down enough.(50lbs power pro high viz yellow with the last 15 feet blackend with a marker:) .thin thin thin)no drag in the water

you didnt tell me your dogs name???enless his name is "Hairy Flatfish Dog"

Flatfish
07-04-2002, 11:05 PM
Dogs name depends.
If it's duck season then it's "Fetch"
If its the rest of the year it depends on what he is doing, or thinking about doing next. If he is "helping" land a steelie well then his name is not fit for print here.If he is laying in the boat and making LESS noise than a busted chainsaw, then it's Jake.If I am sweeping the kitchen floor(or more likely,Mrs. Flatfish)for the 10nth time in a week he is "Hairy Flatfish Dog".
To be continued.

So OK,as of now we have Madwiz and NW Redisde in the Madmobile.
Neutron,do ya wanna go?Do you wanna row or ride?
Cully,Rain or shine, and k-9 are you still interested?
It would work best to put 3 folks per boat,if not we will need to split up on different drifts. The plan now is to do 1 long drift with the opportunity of taking ou midway(if you need to go home early or what have ya).By my count we have 8 potential anglers at this time.
See you on the rivers.

Hey Madwizerd,
Have you ever done any stand up comedy. If not, then you may want to think about a new career in comedy!!!!!!!!
My cheeks are always sore  !!!!
When we go fishin' I'll bring the rubber chicken (but i'll have to ask my wife if she knows where it is).
Today is friday so i think i'll drink a beer!

Hey Madwizerd I just realized something quite interesting : 24 beers in a case; and 24 hours in a day; coincidence graemlins/idea.gif I don't think so!

Hey Drunk Cowboy!!!

I knew someone else could see the deal

I see you live in Sandy, I think thats cool. I used to drive thru Sandy 5 times a week on my way to my steelhead stream up on the mountain when I was a fishin' fool! If hatchery fish were allowed over the dam I still would be up there. I used to think I wanted to live in Sandy or Welches because then I wouldnt have to drive so far. But I guess those days are no more  !

Friendly Fisherman,
You sound like a Salmon River fisherman. That was the best stealhead river around.
It is a dream to live in Sandy. Clack, Eagle, Sandy all within 10 minutes of my house. Oh, and I had silvers come up my creek last year...

Catch some fish this weekend!!!

Mark,

I hope to be rowing and I'll bring the better half probably. This sounds like fun. We hope to load up the camper and stick around. How about a BBQ when done? Might have to bring our yellow lab so the boat fits in.

Ok Guys:
I've got my own boat. Where, what, when and how? Besides the boat and some tackle what would you reccomend? What are we after? I'm a newbie from Idaho so I need to know what we'll need. We've got fly rods and heavy and ultra light spinnig rods and boat rods rigged with 20# and 25#. What to bring? what to leave home? graemlins/1zhelp.gif

Drunk Cowboy!

You got me peged!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I miss it like it used to be with all my heart!
I'll bet you still get to fish  I dont

I want you and everyone who lives up in that region to know that my grandfather saw that my teeth were cut up there; and I know how to love and take care of a small stream the right way. I know how to share , preserve, respect, and most of all LOVE a small stream!
Play by the rules and take out all the trash you can see! Leave nothing behind.

I know it sounds way too fundamental, but "what is , is"
