After talking with a friend of mine, I changed my mind from Hammon/Warrenton to go out of John Day instead. Fished Sunday afternoon, and Monday until about 2:00.
Things were definetely slow. On Sunday all we got were two shakers. On Monday we got one shaker, and two keepers (46", and 48"). The keepers were nice and fat, and put up a good fight. This was the first time I had fished that area. We definately played the moving game. If no bites in half an hour, up with the anchor and on to a new spot.
The bad news was loosing my tail anchor. I had it attached with one of those snapping clips. Threw it out one time, and all that came back was the rope with the clip. I have no idea how that thing could come open! I think next time I will attach the anchor directly to the rope.
