E.Fork Lewis River

Has anyone done any fishing above Lucia Falls recently? Do they let hatchery fish in the E fork and if so how far up can they go? Is that river even open anymore? Any info would be great.

Yes they put hatchery fish in the East Fork and they can go upstream as far as they choose to.. I haven't ever fished up high though. just remember no bait!! I am not sure where the deadline is on the river either might want to check the regs before you go.

The steelhead can get as far as Sunset Falls. It has been fishing pretty well in the last month and a half, but you can expect it to slow down considerably in the next few weeks as the water drops to its summer time flows. The rain we had last week brought some nice bright fish into the river. Good luck.

I used to swim up there and the fish are under the falls in big numbers. It has the clearest water around and some of the coldest. I dont remember seeing them spawn there and the fish loooked in good shape all summer. Went to Lucia Falls sunday just doing a drive by the water seemed low hard to believe after all the rain, maybe just because I hadn't been there in awhile it looked different.
